The angel Gabriel appears to announce of births of John and Jesus, breaking God's 400 year silence with the nation of Israel. We see that God always fulfills his promises, even if it takes longer than we expect. The hopes of the nation would be realized in Jesus the Messiah, who has come to be the king promised to David long ago. Like Zechariah and Mary, our response to his deliverance of this good news warrants our praise.
