Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in welcoming new international students to our community! We are excited for the Big Giveaway 2024! Last year, the Big Giveaway made deliveries to 441 students from 37 countries in partnership with 14 churches and parachurch organizations. This would not have been possible without our amazing volunteer team and we need your help to do it again this year!

Similar to the past few years, the Big Giveaway will be a “sign up and we will deliver” event. The Big Giveaway will not be accepting used furniture donations. Instead, we will be providing students with new in-box items. If you are interested in volunteering or donating to the Big Giveaway, please see below!

Key Dates

  • Friday, August 16th: 4pm-9pm -  Registration & Big Party | Grace Bible Church Anderson College Aud- 701 Anderson St.

  •  Saturday, August 17th: starts at 4:30pm - Big Giveaway Deliveries | Grace Bible Church - 701 Anderson St.

 

DONATE

We will be providing students with new in-box household goods.The Big Giveaway is like a housewarming party for our students, and we want to welcome them well with useful, high quality items! Please see below for how you can bless international students through donations this year.

1. Give towards the Big Giveaway fund, which will be used to purchase new, in-box household goods for students, such as bikes, desks, vacuums, rice cookers, & microwaves. Click here to access the Big Giveaway giving page!

2. Bikes are our most-requested item! We will be receiving donations of new and used (good condition) bikes on August 11th at time TBD. Check back here for additional details!

 

PACK A KIT

Individuals, families, or small groups can pre-pack a box of new kitchen or household items. If you are interested in packing a kit, please see here for instructions. We will be receiving donations of pre-packed household kits on  August 11th at time TBD at Grace Bible Church Anderson College Auditorium - 701 Anderson St.

Where can we take items not needed / accepted for the Giveaway?

  • Both Twin City Mission and Habitat ReStore do scheduled pick-ups of items
